Aynsley Dunbar: Let There Be Drums!
Howie Klein, BAM, 16 February 1979
SAN FRANCISCO – Within the world of rock and roll there are certain performers whose distinctive virtuosity transcend their individual works recorded with a particular band at a particular time. Eric Clapton comes to mind, as do Mike Bloomfield, Jimmy page, Van Morrison, Al Kooper. Surely Dunbar has played with more people than any other drummer imaginable, but, even more significant is the Dunbar trademark: unsurpassed versatility.
