"SO YOU want to know me now? How I feel..." In many ways, McAlmont and Butler's debut single, 'Yes' was the ultimate screw-you song. A one-fingered tribute to ex-lovers and more pertinently, ex-colleagues, it sashayed brassily into the rarefied upper reaches of the chart. McAlmont calls it "an 'I Will Survive' for the 90s"; for Butler it's his "coming-out-of-Suede" song. A triumph on all counts.
