A Recording Studio And Offices For Shelter Records: An Interview With Leon Russell
David A. Williams, unpublished, 10 December 1974
"I ORGANIZED Shelter Records in Los Angeles in 1970. In 1972, I decided to move back to Tulsa to open one of the few recording studios in the area [of northeast Oklahoma]. At the present time, Shelter Records is located in two buildings. An old house that we turned into office space and part of an old, small church that we converted into the studio and control room. I would like to expand to include two studios and two control rooms. There is not enough space for such expansion at our present location.
