WHO'D HAVE THOUGHT it would be an old-fashioned rock 'n' roll band to pull us out of the doldrums of 1968's acid comedown/methedrine blues nightmare? But that's the way it happened and the band was Creedence Clearwater Revival and they shot straight to the top, breaking taboos everywhere and sur-prising almost everyone.
