Al Green: Cream Of Al Green
Peter Silverton, Sounds, 9 February 1980
The way I heard it, at the panty-creaming peak of his career, Al Green was so drunk on the cortical rush of his fame and adulation (with maybe a little beak lunch in there to spice up the cocktail whipping up on the higher ground of his central nervous system) that hed slither onstage, sing as sweet as sweet can be for a couple of songs. Hed thank the audience for their warmth and then SLITHER RIGHT OFFSTAGE AGAIN.
