Al Green: Don't Look Back (RCA)
Andy Gill, Q, October 1993
When Al Green first recorded with Willie Mitchell in 1970, his cover of The Temptations' 'I Can't Get Next To You' launched his career as a secular soul god. Fittingly, Don't Look Back, which may well furnish Green with his first solo hits since his return from the ministry, is named after another Temptations song.
