Alan Price: Performing Price
Chas de Whalley, NME, 24 January 1976
SINCE HE split with The Animals and the Rock 'n' Roll mainstream to home in on the craftsmanship of Randy Newman, Price's career has seen him slowly, but steadily, evolving his own style, one that seeks an adequate and convincing combination of the Brass Band and Music Hall Traditions of his native, working class Newcastle with the wilder rhythms of the Jazz and R'n'B that inspired him as an adolescent.
