Alice Cooper: Welcome To My Nightmare
Jaan Uhelszki, Creem, May 1975
THE PLOT OF THE somnambulistic and psychopathic Steven and his nocturnal atrocities (he unknowingly murders in his sleep) takes up most of the second side of the album. Alice contends that the story of Steven slices the top off of all of our lids, revealing that we are all potential Charley Starkweathers and Mr. Hydes. Anyone for morality play? I'd venture the late-late show. The plot is thin and the only moment of absurity is not ironic but nonsensical.
