American Candyass, or: Why Good Charlotte Must Die
Metal Mike Saunders, Rock's Backpages, 22 September 2003
ARE YOU PEOPLE not understanding? Doesn't anyone learn anything from the lessons of the past? The tail end of poof metal's monstrous commercial run was besotten by lame girlypunk, oops, i mean girlymetal (semi-genius acts Warrant and Poison the obvious exceptions), and then every wannabe sissymetal geek in the world and his band got a major label deal (around 1989 or so), and the really bad acts had a cumulative gravitational weight that, for some fucked up reason, let Nirvana in the back door (for all the guyz and dykes i guess).
