Archie Bell & The Drells: Here They Go Again
John Abbey, Blues & Soul, November 1972
IT'S BECOMING commonplace these days for Britain's pop public to turn on to American soul acts at a time when the artists' career is quiet in the States. In the last issue of B&S, Britain's No. 1 record was by Archie Bell & the Drells and I vividly recall the look on the faces of several Americans who were plainly trying to think back to the last time they heard a new record from Archie and his Drells. It was a look of surprise.
