Art Pepper Dies
Richard Cook, NME, 26 June 1982
ART PEPPER, one of the true greats of modern jazz saxophone, died from a cerebral haemorrhage last week, three months short of his 57th birthday. Though he played and recorded prolifically in his last years, his health had long since been ruined by addiction (he remained on methadone to the end). But its hard to accept hes gone.
