Atlantic Records: Label Of 1,000 Dances
Penny Reel, NME, 16 August 1986
ATLANTIC RECORDS was the supreme R&B label among many which flourished during the music's pre-eminence from shortly after the Second World War up to the early '70s and chartered its transition from blues to soul. Now nearly 200 of these titles have been collected together in chronological order on seven double LPs in a box set released this month under the aegis 'Atlantic Rhythm And Blues 1947-1974'.
