B B King: Hammersmith Odeon, London
Phil Sutcliffe, Sounds, 19 April 1980
THE QUALITY of B. B. King is not strained, it droppeth as the gentle dew from heaven...and I only wish Bill Shakespeare (what a fine punky name) was around to carry on this review because I'm very aware of my powers of expression being badly outgunned by "that dynamic gentleman of the blues", as his compere has it, and it's hard to even touch on the richness of feeling he conveys.
