Billy Corgan: The Pumpkin King Goes Solo

Ben Myers, Kerrang!, June 2005

THE FIRST thing you notice is not how tall he is or how large his hands look, or the fact that he's dressed like an Southern Gothic dandy in threads last seen in an Edgar Allen Poe story – though he is all of these. It's when Billy Corgan smiles. As his cheeks move up to meet his eyes and his mouth reveals those recognisable gnashers, you're struck by how unfamiliar a sight it is.
