Black Flag and All That
Barney Hoskyns, eMusic.com, Winter 2007
THE RECENT PUBLICATION of Joe Carducci's moving and fascinating Enter Naomi: SST, L.A. and All That... (Wyoming: Redoubt Press) takes me back 25 years to the fall of 1982, when Carducci was running the day-to-day at SST Records, the southern California label set up by electronics geek Greg Ginn to release albums by his band Black Flag. Joe later wrote a remarkable book called Rock and the Pop Narcotic (1991) before splitting from SoCal and heading off to the big wide wilds of Wyoming.
