LEADER-SONGWRITER Eddie Grant lives and breathes the Equals, whose fat, pumping 'Black Skin Blue Eyed Boys' single is at No. 19 in this week's NME Chart, and when suspected heart trouble knocked him down recently it could have also been a shaky moment for the future of the group. The fact is that in many ways Eddie Grant IS the Equals... and the others know it and they respect it.
