Blondie: Blonde on Blonde
David Sinclair, Independent, The, 13 July 2006
WHEN BLONDIE were admitted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio, earlier this year, it seemed about time. After thirty million albums sold, and a string of No.1 hits stretching over three decades, the group fronted by one of the most iconic singers in the history of pop were ready to take their place alongside the all-time greats. But like so many things about this unpredictable and often dysfunctional band, the ceremony did not run smoothly. In a scene that has become notorious, one of the group's many disgruntled former band members, guitarist Frank Infante, confronted singer Debbie Harry and begged her to let him play with the band once again, for old time's sake.
