Bob Dylan: Desire (CBS)

DESIRE begins with ‘Hurricane’, Dylan’s account of how black boxer Reuben Carter was falsely charged and jailed for murder. I don’t know how many cut of the song Dylan’s made, but this is the disco version — congas, old fashioned rhythm guitar and a tough violin. And lots to listen to while you bop. Dylan’s gone back to the lyrical form of his earliest protest stories — the tale is incredibly detailed as, without pause for breath, banalities
