Bobby Womack: Hammersmith Odeon, London
Vivien Goldman, Sounds, 13 March 1976
THIS MUST RANK as the most Perplexing gig I've ever seen. All I was left with at the end was a burning desire to rush off and see Bobby Womack somewhere else, perhaps outside London, at some venue more intimate than the cavernous Hammersmith Odeon. There was a whole bunch of people in the audience, including myself, who refuse to believe that this patchy evening was really B. Womack, long-time hero, at his best.
