WATCHING THE degeneration of an artist's talents is no fun, especially when they've done truly classic work in the past. Boz Scaggs has never recovered from the success of Silk Degrees, the album that made "slick" respectable again, and his latest album is even worse than Down Two, Then Left. And Middle Man took two years to complete.
