Brian Wilson: Imagination (Giant)

Barney Hoskyns, Spin, August 1998

IT IS HARD NOT TO harbour mixed feelings about Brian Wilson in the late '90s. While it’s great that he’s up and about (and not being "treated" by Dr. Eugene Landy), there is something a bit pathetic about the music he makes whenever anyone tries to carve out a niche for him in the modern world. We have become too used to Brian the professional idiot savant, the walk-on Forrest Gump.
