Bruce Springsteen & Dr. John: Fan Recalls First Close Encounter
Don Snowden, Thunder, February 1978
WELL, IT WAS the summer of '74 and all in all life was reasonably comfortable but pretty boring. Home was the spacious second floor of this house in Highland Park shared with a couple of good friends real nice digs, actually, seeing as the rent was $175.00 a month with all utilities paid. The families living downstairs didn't take too kindly to late night blasts of loud rock and roll, which put a bit of a crimp in the entertainment end of things, but so it goes.
