ON July 25, 1966, the Buffalo Springfield had the distinction of being the first group ever to appear at a rock concert at the Hollywood Bowl without having a hit record. Three days later, however, their first single, 'Nowadays Clancy Cant Even Sing', broke on the air and received the same wild reception. Buffalo fans at the Bowl were second only to those of the Rolling Stones.
