Bumps 'n' bruises in Fayette, Mississippi: On tour with Joe Tex
Cliff White, NME, 14 May 1977
THE SUN burns out of a clear blue sky like in all the best travel brochures; the air is warm and moist and heavy with the smell of the bayou. We're motoring north-westwards out of New Orleans on Highway 61. Our CBS host is at the wheel, photographer Joe Stevens is in the back recovering from last night's party and I'm getting one elbow tanned while munching fresh strawberries. It's a hard life.
