Canned Heat: One More River To Cross
Harold Bronson, Rolling Stone, 28 February 1974
ONE WOULD EXPECT that with its new label, Atlantic, and rejuvenated line-up (which includes Bob Hite, vocals; Henry Vestine, guitar; Fito de la Pareda, drums; Richard Hite, bass; Ed Bayer, keyboards, and James Shayne, guitar and sax), Canned Heat would burst forth once again in infectious boogie or, at the very least, show some enthusiasm. But, One More River to Cross is an unimaginative, desperate attempt by aging rock & rollers to hang on.
