Carlos Santana

FOR OVER A YEAR, Santana had built a reputation the hardest but most reliable way, by word of mouth. In their home town of San Francisco, the latino-blues-rock combo had become an established headline draw despite having no product to promote, and through steady touring they were slowly spreading the word further afield. All that changed suddenly when, on Saturday, August 16, 1969 they played the performance of their lives at the Woodstock Festival.
