Carol Douglas
John Abbey, Blues & Soul, April 1975
WITH THE continued success of the disco in America, we are constantly getting a steady flow of new talent hitting the charts. Carol Douglas is the latest potential superstar(ess) to explode on to the scene. Born in Brooklyn, New York on April 7, 1948, Ms. Douglas is one of the rarities that hit the charts with their very first record. British record buyers already know the song, 'Doctor's Orders', via Sunny's original hit record also a disco hit when it was first released. This is, of course, the chief reason why Ms. Douglas has been unable to repeat her American success outside of her homeland.
