WHEN WE heard the good news of Clarence Carter's impending marriage to his protege, Candi Staton, we felt we had to get in touch with him and offer our congratulations on behalf of BLUES & SOUL and all our readers and when we finally tracked him down we were able to talk with not only Clarence but Candi and Rick Hall, too. Clarence was actually recording tracks for his next album in Rick's Muscle Shoals studio.
