Commander Cody: Country Casanova

Nick Kent, New Musical Express, 25 August 1973

I'VE GOT to admit I was thrown when I first saw the cover of this album. The dude in the cowboy shirt leaning next to the fancy motor looks the spittin' image of Lester Bangs, the most notorious rock writer of the Western Hemisphere. The thing is, Lester doesn't come from the country and he's not really a Casanova (though he's had no complaints from his girlfriends). But then, neither is this guy who is in fact Commander Cody hiself, alias ivory-ticklin' George Frayne.
