THE BLUES CAME to America in chains, contained within the hearts of the enslaved people of Africa. Two hundred odd years later it went back, contained in 12-inch cardboard sleeves with names like John Lee Hooker, Lightnin' Hopkins, and Ray Charles emblazoned on them.
