David Johansen: In Style

DAVID JOHANSEN'S first solo effort last year was a satisfying effort which found the former New York Dolls lead singer working on musical turf halfway between the swaggering raunch of his old band and the more mainstream hard rock of Aerosmith. As the Richard Avedon cover photography suggests, In Style is a far slicker album and all the worse for it.
