IT'S FUNNY the way that you run into people by surprise. On planning a quick interview with Curtis Mayfield, I discovered that his road manager was named Don Gardner. With a little more searching, he turned out to be THE Don Gardner, of Don Gardner and Dee Dee Ford fame.
