Dr Feelgood: A Case Of The Shakes
Max Bell, NME, 27 September 1980
YOU HAVE to admit that Dr Feelgood know their own measure – no kowtowing to trend from this lot. Would you believe this record was their ninth? That fascinating rhythm and blues fixation has been refashioned via the second wave of punk, pumped up and souled out by the rude boys, reggaefied and skatellited by the mohair kids; the Feelgood corps meanwhile trucks on regardless, well oiled, permanently juiced and disarmingly frank. A garage band yet? Strange things happen at sea, John.
