Dr. Feelgood's Los Angeles debut four years ago was an impressive and welcome breath of fresh air. The British quartet's lean, mean brand of English rhythm & blues foreshadowed punk's return to basics, and the manic charisma of guitarist Wilko Johnson and lead singer Lee Brilleaux made the band likely candidates for stardom.
