THE REPORTERS from the provincial press had gathered in the room where the press conference was to be held and were guzzling record- company wine, waiting. Outside, Dennis Locorriere and Ray Sawyer – the two most public faces of Dr. Hook – were on their third (or was it fourth?) circuit of the block, making appropriate preparations for the task at hand, heads down in the back of the car adding deliriously over a pipe and a bag of Jah’s finest ‘erb.
