THE OMENS ARE bad from the start. Take the Stockholm subway to Globen, the stop for the stadium, and you alight in a postmodern mega-estate, its blank off-white housing towers and dwarfing plazas apparently built yesterday on some otherwise useless swamp, and designed by someone inspired by 'Metropolis' when it came to dimensions but by Novotel when it came to style.
