Edwyn Collins: I'm Not Following You
Everett True, Uncut, September 1997
WHAT IS it they say? "The first million is the hardest." If that's the case, then Edwyn Collins quiffed-up maverick, sometime lush, inspiration for a thousand lesser bands, bona fide thirtysomething pop star must be cruising down Easy Street by now. It sure sounds like it. On his first album since '94's Gorgeous George (the record which spawned the monster hit, 'A Girl Like You'), the former Orange Juice front-man sounds contented. And why shouldn't he?
