THEY PROBABLY STARTED DIPPING the gold discs the moment it was announced that New Order's singer Bernard Sumner and the modern world's most in-demand freelance guitar-slinger Johnny Marr (Morrissey's ex-male, much manque) were working together. Their one-off late '89 single 'Getting Away With It' cunningly increased anticipation and now they're in the charts again with what is far from the best track on the album.
