Eurythmics: Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)
Cynthia Rose, NME, 5 February 1983
WHEN ANNIE LENNOX and Dave Stewart opened for Roxy's 'comeback' as two-fifths of The Tourists, I thought there was definitely something there, but I never expected them to have more to say about modern artifice than the main act. Yet with 'Sweet Dreams' the first really coherent Eurythmics LP they provide not only an immaculate post-disco view of urban romance as a minefield of cliches; they also explore a few aspects of what this means.
