Everything But the Girl: Shining Bright
Barney Hoskyns, unpublished, 1988
ONE OF THE few good things about the British pop scene in 1988 is that the subtle and reflective music of boy-girl duo Everything But The Girl still has a home on a major record label. That the pair also recently had their first sizeable hit, a cover of the old Rod Stewart ballad 'I Don't Want To Talk About It', is an added reason to celebrate.
