Flamin’ Groovies: Now
Phast Phreddie Patterson, Waxpaper, 1978
NOW. Thats the title of the new Flamin Groovies album. Which is very ironic because the album just doesnt sound like "Now." I dare anyone to turn on a radio and find a song that sounds anything like what is heard on this album. The album does, however, hint strongly of a mid-60s "Then." Perhaps it is because the Flamin Groovies feel that the sound of "Then" is superior to the sound of "Now," especially in how they perceive the "Then" sound through their eight non-original songs.
