Flash Cadillac: There's No Face like Chrome

Ken Barnes, Rolling Stone, 4 July 1974

FLASH CADILLAC & the Continental Kids have been identified with a stale spate of revivalist Fifties bands – even though their live performances prove they can cut all competition to ribbons. Since period re-creations translate poorly to vinyl, their albums have wisely included more diversified material. And now, on There's No Face like Chrome, they have ditched the oldies almost entirely, in favor of contemporary material that expresses their point of view more originally, and with delightful results.
