On a balmy night in the late summer of ’67, while the world was wearing flowers in its hair, I was sinking into my seat, trying to look inconspicuous amid hordes of black schoolkids and young mums in the middle of the stalls at the Uptown Theatre, Philadelphia Pa., two hours from the Big Apple by the mighty Greyhound.
