Gene Vincent & His Blue Caps: The Bop That Just Won't Stop
Gene Sculatti, Zoo World, 1 August 1974
FOR THE MOST PART, the continuing "rock 'n roll revival" phenomenon we've been witnessing these past 5 years is a pretty shabby affair. What with Sha Na Na, Midnight Special, "all oldies" shows and tired renditions of 'Johnny B. Goode' being trundled out on at least ten albums every month, you'd think the rich and varied legacy of early rock 'n roll all boiled down to a single Berry lick, a tube of Brylcreem and acrobatic sex in the backseat of a '53 Chevy.
