IN HIS WRITING, Grin leader Nils Lofgren shows a special affection for cowboy songs (not the actual music of the old West, but original tunes that call to mind Johnny Mack Brown pictures and Rawhide episodes) and teenage fantasies covering roughly the same territory as the early Beach Boys – cars and true love.
