Hanging On A Star: In Memory of Nick Drake
Gerrie Lim, Big O, November 1994
HIS MUSIC IS as evocative and haunting as ever, though much of his life remains mysterious. Nick Drake died 20 years ago this month, on November 25, 1974, an apparent suicide after an introverted life tormented by manic depression and an uncommonly deep shyness of other people. He was 26 years old, gone before his time, as Neil Young recently sang of Kurt Cobain, to sleep with angels.
