This interview with Patti Smith took place last October when she stopped off in London for a day en route for Europe. We were saving it to coincide with her recent British visit. Trouble is, the mag's late (as usual) and she's been and gone – that's the trouble with being a monthly. So we ain't gonna give you an account of the tour, 'cos you've probably read about it already in the fun-loving music papers. Just this interview, which sees Patti in high spirits – her October European jaunt was a sort of trial run to see if she'd be fit to do the tour she's just done, and it was working out okay.
