STRANGE THOUGH it might seem, it took an ad on eBay offering the master tapes for sale to anyone with half a million dollars to spare that kick started the recent release of the first upgraded edition of My Generation, the Whos explosive debut album. Shel Talmy, the records producer, placed the ad after years of frustrated deadlock that had for decades seen this classic album all but deleted in the UK and unavailable on CD anywhere in the world outside of the US.
