ENNIO MORRICONE single-handedly redefined our musical definition of the Western. Nobody can make jew’s harp and whistling sound more awe inspiring or one duck-call and a plunking banjo sound so funky. But dozens of Westerns – Spaghetti and otherwise – that Morricone scored in the ‘60s and ‘70s represent only a fraction of his prolific output, which most discographies estimate to be around 400 albums.
