Iggy and the Stooges: At the Whisky a Go Go, Hollywood
Metal Mike Saunders, Phonograph Record, October 1973
The Stooges have made the Comeback of the Year, no doubt about it, and their energized stay at the Whisky sealed it. The night before they opened, I got into an argument with a friend who had played the grooves off of Fun House in years past, and yet couldn't be talked into going to see the Stooges. His argument was logical, but perverse: "Look, it's all this 1969 Detroit shit that was great in its time, but this is 1973. They're washed up."
